We truly appreciate the trust you have placed in us and the opportunity to bring your vision of a Modern Contemporary space to life. Our approach was to build upon the existing character of the room while carefully introducing selected colors, materials, lighting, textiles, artwork, and furniture pieces that complement your chosen style and create a harmonious, refined, and functional environment. Every element has been thoughtfully considered to bring balance, warmth, and sophistication to the space while keeping the overall design distinctly contemporary. We hope you enjoy the concept we have created for you and that the finished space becomes an inspiring and comfortable place to work, meet, and spend time in.
With a total budget of $4,000, our approach was to allocate the investment thoughtfully across the elements that have the greatest impact on the overall design. The budget is primarily directed toward the selected furniture pieces, lighting, rug and curtains, artwork, and carefully chosen accessories, while making the most of the existing built-in wall unit, executive desk, chair, and sideboard. This allows us to create a cohesive and elevated Modern Contemporary office without unnecessary changes, ensuring that each purchase has a clear purpose and contributes to the final look and functionality of the space.
The proposed design for your home office is based on a refined contemporary aesthetic, combining the strength of dark architectural elements with warm natural materials, soft neutrals, subtle metallic accents, and carefully selected contemporary pieces.
The objective is to create an office that feels professional and sophisticated while remaining warm, comfortable, and residential. Rather than introducing unnecessary elements, the design works around the existing built-in furniture and architectural features, adding selected pieces that improve the room's balance, functionality, and visual character.

With approximately 19 m² of floor area, the room provides a well-proportioned environment for a dedicated home office while allowing distinct zones to coexist comfortably.
The 5-meter length gives the space enough depth to establish a clear relationship between the executive working area and the guest seating area. The 3.8-meter width provides sufficient room for the main desk composition while maintaining comfortable circulation around the furniture.
At 2.7 meters high, the ceiling offers a balanced vertical proportion: high enough to accommodate a statement chandelier and full-height visual compositions, while still maintaining a sense of intimacy appropriate for a home office.
The proposed layout takes advantage of these proportions by establishing a strong central axis, keeping the executive workspace visually anchored while allowing the seating area to feel connected rather than separated from the main working zone.
The color palette is developed around the existing finishes of the room, particularly the dark built-in wall unit, rich wood tones, warm neutral walls, and brown leather of the existing executive chair.

The lighter cream and beige tones are particularly important because they provide visual relief against the darker furniture. Brass and warm gold are used selectively to introduce refinement without changing the overall contemporary character.
The resulting palette remains warm and restrained, allowing the existing architectural elements to remain visually important while creating a more welcoming atmosphere.
The existing furniture provides the architectural and functional foundation of the design.
The built-in wall unit is an existing architectural feature and therefore remains in its current position. Its integrated construction makes it a fixed component of the room rather than a movable furniture piece.
Its dark finish, vertical detailing, integrated storage, and illuminated shelving give the office a strong architectural backdrop. It also naturally establishes the principal focal wall and provides a visual anchor for the executive desk.
The design therefore works with the wall unit rather than attempting to compete with it. The additional elements are selected to complement its scale, materiality, and dark contemporary character.
The existing executive desk already supports the desired contemporary direction through its substantial proportions and rich wood finish.
We recommend placing the desk centrally in relation to the built-in wall unit, creating a clear visual axis through the room. This central positioning reinforces the importance of the executive workspace and allows the wall unit, desk, and chair to read as one coordinated composition.
The existing executive chair complements the desk through its brown leather finish and structured form.
We recommend positioning the chair directly behind the desk and aligned with its center, creating a balanced executive workstation while maintaining a strong relationship with the built-in wall unit behind it.
The existing sideboard provides an important secondary architectural element on the opposite side of the room.
Its long horizontal form balances the verticality of the wall unit and creates an appropriate surface for the proposed artwork and selected accessories.
It should remain positioned on the wall opposite the executive desk, where it can form the foundation of the guest-facing composition.
The lighting strategy combines the room's existing architectural lighting with several carefully selected additions.

These existing elements provide the general illumination and establish a warm architectural glow throughout the room.
The cove lighting is particularly valuable because it emphasizes the perimeter of the ceiling and reinforces the warm atmosphere. The integrated lighting within the wall unit also highlights its shelving and vertical detailing, giving depth to the main focal wall.
We propose a contemporary statement chandelier positioned centrally within the room.
The chandelier was selected to introduce a more refined decorative layer while remaining compatible with the modern architecture. Its glass elements and warm metallic structure add subtle elegance and create a visual connection with the proposed brass/gold details elsewhere in the room.
Its central position should align with the principal composition of the office, allowing it to act as the room's main decorative lighting feature without competing with the wall unit.
We propose four dedicated artwork lights.
Three should be positioned above the three-piece floral artwork, with each light aligned with its corresponding panel. The fourth should illuminate the geometric artwork on the adjacent wall.
This focused lighting will make the artwork an intentional part of the design rather than simply wall decoration. It will also create a layered evening atmosphere by combining focused artwork illumination with the existing ambient lighting.
A contemporary brass/gold desk lamp is proposed for the executive desk.
It should be positioned toward the right-hand side of the desk, providing practical task lighting while introducing a subtle metallic accent that connects with the chandelier and artwork lighting.
To create a comfortable meeting and conversation area, we propose two cream upholstered guest chairs with warm wooden frames.
The cream upholstery was selected specifically to soften the darker palette established by the existing wall unit, desk, and sideboard. The wooden frames maintain continuity with the existing walnut tones, allowing the chairs to feel integrated rather than visually disconnected.
The two chairs should be positioned facing the executive desk, creating a clear informal meeting arrangement.
Between them, we propose a round coffee table in a dark walnut tone.
The circular shape is an intentional contrast to the strong rectangular geometry of the desk, wall unit, sideboard, and artwork. It introduces a softer visual rhythm and creates a natural center for the seating arrangement.
The table should be placed centrally between the two guest chairs, with the entire seating group positioned on the proposed area rug.
The accessories are selected to add character without overwhelming the contemporary composition.
The black horse sculpture is proposed for the left side of the sideboard.
Its sculptural silhouette introduces an artistic element and reinforces the darker tones already present in the room. Its position on the left provides visual weight and creates an intentional relationship with the accessories placed on the opposite side.
A golden/brass-toned vase with an artificial branch arrangement is proposed for the right side of the sideboard.
The warm metallic finish introduces a controlled gold accent, while the branches bring height and organic movement to the otherwise linear sideboard composition.
Placing it on the right creates balance with the horse sculpture on the left while giving the sideboard a deliberately asymmetrical but balanced arrangement.
A small white vase is proposed for the center of the coffee table.
Its light color creates a subtle focal point against the dark walnut surface, while its simple form maintains the clean contemporary character of the room.
We propose a warm beige/cream area rug to define the central furniture arrangement.
The rug was selected to soften the darker wood tones and introduce texture and warmth beneath the furniture. Its neutral character allows it to connect the executive workspace with the guest seating area without introducing another strong visual color.
It should be positioned centrally beneath the main furniture composition, extending sufficiently beneath the guest chairs and coffee table to visually unify the seating zone with the desk area.
We propose full-length curtains in a warm ivory/cream tone for the large glazed opening.
The curtains were selected to soften the large architectural opening, filter natural daylight, and introduce vertical texture into the room.
They should extend from close to ceiling level toward the floor, creating a continuous vertical line and emphasizing the room's height. Their neutral tone also complements both the proposed rug and the existing warm wood finishes.
For the wall above the sideboard, we propose a three-piece contemporary floral composition in ivory, beige, warm neutral, and subtle gold tones.
The artwork was selected because its organic floral forms provide a gentle contrast to the strong linear geometry of the existing furniture. Its restrained palette also connects directly with the proposed cream, beige, walnut, and brass color scheme.
The three pieces should be positioned centered above the sideboard, maintaining consistent spacing between the panels and keeping the overall composition proportionate to the sideboard beneath it.
The dedicated artwork lighting should be positioned above the three panels to emphasize the artwork in the evening.
For the adjacent wall, we propose a contemporary geometric artwork with warm wood, neutral, and darker tonal elements.
This piece introduces a more structured artistic language, creating a visual counterpoint to the softer floral triptych.
Its composition should remain on the adjacent wall beside the main office area, as represented in the proposed design, with dedicated artwork lighting positioned above it.
Together, the two artwork compositions create visual continuity while giving each wall its own identity.
The proposed design for your home office is centered on contemporary sophistication with warmth and balance.
Rather than changing the existing architectural foundation, the design uses the built-in wall unit, executive desk, chair, and sideboard as the starting point. The proposed additions are carefully selected to complement these existing elements through a restrained palette of dark walnut, charcoal, warm beige, ivory, cream, and subtle brass.
The central executive composition establishes the professional identity of the room, while the two guest chairs and round coffee table introduce a more welcoming area for meetings and conversation. The rug and curtains soften the architecture, while the artwork adds personality and visual depth.
